The glass fitting Petway Pet Door is to be fitted by a professional Glazier. Existing Glass Sliding Doors and the Fixed Panels beside them are Toughened / Safety glass, which cannot be cut. This glass will need to be replaced.
HINT: Try to position circle cutout so the lowest point of the circle is approximately 40mm (1 ½ inch) below pet’s belly when in normal standing position
Note: When pet door is completely fitted the bottom edge of the flap opening will be 20mm (¾ inch) above the lowest point of the circle cut out.
Glass Panel
Step 1. Cut circle in glass at Small: 306mm (12") diameter | Medium: 381mm (15 1/16 inch) diameter.
Step 2. Remove Pet Lock-Out panel. (Rotate counter-clockwise) - set aside
Step 3. Remove Outer Ring and remove Screw Bag - Set aside.
Step 4. Unscrew top 2 screws. remove flap, re-screw top 2 screws.
Step 5. Apply a line/bead of clear silicone across the bottom edge of the glass circle rim cut out, approx. 50mm/2 inches in length. When cured, this will stop the pet door rotating when the Pet Lock-Out panel is engaged.
Step 6. Take note of where the locking teeth are located on both frames. Hold main frame on outside of glass with locking ring positioned on inside. Align locking teeth on both frames and squeeze gently together. Work your way slowly around all 6 sets (8 sets for medium size) of locking teeth until panels are firmly and evenly engaged.
Step 7. Unscrew top 2 screws, refit flap. Ensure the word PETWAY is facing outside. Screw all 12 screws (14 screws for medium size) in place.
Note: The Pet Lock-Out panel is an option to totally lock off pet door opening for your pet. The raised black rectangle pieces below the flap, on the inside & outside of the frames, are sliding lock clips, which slide up & down to lock & unlock the flap.
If it is necessary to take the Pet Door out of the glass - unscrew all 12 screws to disassemble, then rotate the frames.
