How to measure your pet
Follow these 3 simple steps to find the perfect pet door size
Measure height
Measure from the top of your pet's back down to the upper ankle.
Tip: Pets naturally compress slightly when walking through a pet door, normally the head slightly comes down and the feet lift up.
Measure width
Measure the widest part of your pet, typically the chest or hips. Add a small clearance so your pet can comfortably pass through without squeezing.
Test before cutting
Cut the hole size from cardboard, place it in the doorway, and call your pet through. This confirms the size works before installing or cutting the door.
