Note: Do you have a security screen door in front of your timber door? If you are considering fitting both doors with a Petway Pet Door, we recommend fitting the pet door into the security door first, to ensure you can accurately align both pet doors. We have designed our Petway Pet Doors to work together. One of these pet doors will need to have a soft flexible flap (sold separately here). Watch the installation video above to align both pet doors.
TOOLS REQUIRED: Tape measure, pencil, jigsaw with timber blade, drill, 10mm drill bit, vacuum, phillips screwdriver, soft cloth.
Step 1. Set up on inside of the closed timber door. Remove backing slide down panel (this is your template). Place pet door on a soft cloth, face down.
Step 2. Grip the pet door on top corners of inside frame only. Lift slightly off soft cloth. Place thumbs on top screw holes. (Refer FIGURE 1) Push down firmly with both thumbs. This will disengage the locking teeth and the two frames will spring!!! apart. Remove screw bags and screw all flat head screws provided into allocated screw holes and tighten. Do not over tighten screws.

Step 3. Fit provided gasket as shown →
Step 4. Tip: Edge of template must be no closer than 35mm from the side and bottom edges of the timber door. (Refer FIGURE 2) The positioning of your pet door may vary depending on your pet’s breed (some pets have longer legs than others). The ideal position is for the bottom edge of pet door opening to be approximately 25mm below the tummy of your pet in normal standing position. Place slide down panel (template) on timber door at appropriate height and mark out rectangle. Be sure to keep template aligned/parallel with timber door edge.
Step 5. Drill a 10mm hole on the four corners of the marked rectangle. Using jigsaw, cut on marked cutting line. (Refer FIGURE 3) Remove waste and vacuum area.
Step 6. Important Pre-Assembly Tip: When squeezing frames together, squeeze until just firm (not all the way). Align the pet door first, then squeeze again firmly to lock into position. To do this, while sitting inside, reach through the cut out, hold and align the outer frame (with flap) in position. Place inner frame in position on the inside of timber door and simply squeeze together, making sure the pet door is in the correct position. Also ensure the two frames are evenly compressed all the way around. (Refer FIGURE 4) Fit the six Dome Head screws (provided) into the inner side-wall holes of the pet door frame to secure (Refer FIGURE 4). Assembly is now complete. Use the Slide Down Backing Panel to lock the pet door, to keep your pet in or out
