Installation if L Bracket is 'required'
TOOLS REQUIRED: Battery Drill with Phillips Screwdriver Bit, Stanley Knife or Blade Phillips Screwdriver, Roller Wheel (optional).

STEP 1. Lay the Petway® Pet Door on a clean, cloth covered flat surface with the word Petway® facing down. Undo four screws to disassemble packaged Petway® pet door. Remove bag containing screws and set aside. Remove provided spline from the pet door's back frame channel and set aside. Discard the clear plastic U channel (this is not required). Make sure the word Petway® on the flap is still facing down, screw the 2 frames together again, using all short screws provided. (IMPORTANT: Do not over tighten screws)
STEP 2. Join the 2 pieces of the bracket together to form an “L” shape. In the chosen bottom corner of the door frame, position the L Bracket close to, but not quite touching the insect screening. Make sure the longer leg of L Bracket is vertical. (Refer Figure 1) 14 holes are provided in the L Bracket to cater for left or right corner application. Using a battery drill with a Phillips screwdriver bit, screw the 7 screws (provided) into the holes closest to the insect screening. 4 screws in the vertical leg & 3 screws in the horizontal leg. IMPORTANT TIP: Gently push the battery drill against the insect screening to ensure screws go in straight. (Refer Figure 2)
STEP 3. Position the assembled pet door over the L Bracket, (Refer Figure 3) making sure spline cord channel is facing insect screening and the word PETWAY® on the flap is facing you. Firmly push the pet door down and then sideways onto the L Bracket. Clicking will be heard as the pet door slides into the correct position.
STEP 4. Now with the PETWAY® Pet Door securely in place, move to the opposite side of your insect screen door. Using a sharp blade, cut the insect screening as shown, running the blade between the pet door frame and the flap. (Refer Figure 4) Starting at the top corner, pre-crease the insect screening carefully into channel using a roller wheel. While supporting the pet door on the opposite side, slowly insert the spline cord (provided) into the spline channel, using a roller wheel. Use the sharp blade to trim off any excess spline cord and insect screening. Assembly is now complete. The raised rectangle pieces below the flap are sliding lock clips which are provided to keep your pet in or out (Refer Figure 5) Note: Lock clips are designed for light to moderate force on flap. PETWAY® cannot guarantee locks if excessive force is used.
Installation if L Bracket is 'not required'
TOOLS REQUIRED: Phillips screwdriver, pointy nose pliers (optional), roller wheel (optional), marker pen, stanley knife or blade, tape measure.

STEP 1. Using pointy nose pliers, remove spline cord from bottom corner of security door below handle, taking out approximately 500mm in both directions from corner. Peel back insect screening to give clear access to grille.
STEP 2. Using tape, measure 300mm in height and 250mm in width from innermost edge of door frame. Mark with marker pen. (Refer Figure 1.)
STEP 3. Using bolt cutters or hacksaw, cut outside marked cutting line. Remove grille. Note: Any rivets may have to be removed by drilling out. Fit PVC channel (provided) over cut grille edge. Undo two screws to disassemble packaged PETWAY® pet door. Remove bag containing screws and set aside.
STEP 4. While holding outer frame against grille, place inner frame of PETWAY® pet door in position ensuring spline channel in security door frame is exposed. Using a Phillips screwdriver, tighten the two bottom screws provided. This will hold pet door frames in position. Do not over tighten screws. Gently spread the top section of frames apart and insert the flap with the word PETWAY® facing outside. Ensure the pet door stays aligned with the security door frame and does not cover security door frame spline channel. (Refer Figure 2.) Fit and tighten remaining screws. Do not over tighten screws.
STEP 5. Allow insect screening to drape back down, roll spline cord back into its original position. Using a sharp blade, cut the insect screening as shown, running the blade between the pet door flap and the frame. (Refer Figure 2.) (Note: See back of brochure for photograph of installed unit)
STEP 6. Starting at the top corner, pre-crease insect screening into the channel, then run the spline cord (provided) into the pet door spline channel. Using a sharp blade, trim off any excess spline cord and insect screening.
STEP 7. Assembly is now complete. The raised rectangle pieces below the flap are sliding lock clips which are provided to keep your pet in or out.
(Refer Figure 3).
