Installation if L Bracket is 'required'

TOOLS REQUIRED: Drill with Phillips screwdriver, pointy nose pliers, Stanley knife, roller wheel, tape measure.STEP 1. Lay the Petway® Pet Door on a clean, cloth covered flat surface with the word Petway® facing down. Undo four screws to disassemble packaged Petway® pet door. Remove bag containing screws and set aside. Remove provided spline from the pet door's back frame channel and set aside. Discard the clear plastic U channel (this is not required). Make sure the word Petway® on the flap is still facing down, screw the 2 frames together again, using all short screws provided. (IMPORTANT: Do not over tighten screws)

STEP 2. Join the 2 pieces of the bracket together to form an “L” shape. In the chosen bottom corner of the door frame, position the L Bracket close to, but not quite touching the insect screening. Make sure the longer leg of L Bracket is vertical. (Refer Figure 1) 14 holes are provided in the L Bracket to cater for left or right corner application. Using a battery drill with a Phillips screwdriver bit, screw the 7 screws (provided) into the holes closest to the insect screening. 4 screws in the vertical leg & 3 screws in the horizontal leg. IMPORTANT TIP: Gently push the battery drill against the insect screening to ensure screws go in straight. (Refer Figure 2)

STEP 3. Position the assembled pet door over the L Bracket, (Refer Figure 3) making sure spline cord channel is facing insect screening and the word PETWAY® on the flap is facing you. Firmly push the pet door down and then sideways onto the L Bracket. Clicking will be heard as the pet door slides into the correct position.

STEP 4. Now with the PETWAY® Pet Door securely in place, move to the opposite side of your insect screen door. Using a sharp blade, cut the insect screening as shown, running the blade between the pet door frame and the flap. (Refer Figure 4) Starting at the top corner, pre-crease the insect screening carefully into channel using a roller wheel. While supporting the pet door on the opposite side, slowly insert the spline cord (provided) into the spline channel, using a roller wheel. Use the sharp blade to trim off any excess spline cord and insect screening. Assembly is now complete. The raised rectangle pieces below the flap are sliding lock clips which are provided to keep your pet in or out (Refer Figure 5) Note: Lock clips are designed for light to moderate force on flap. PETWAY® cannot guarantee locks if excessive force is used.
